Rhythm Section founder Bradley Zero and producer Nathanael Williams have launched a new audio bar in Tottenham, MOKO.

Set to open its doors on 18th August, the venue will operate as a sister venue to the pair’sPeckham-based listening bar, JUMBI, which opened in 2022.

The duo announced the news on Instagram, writing: “Our new spot, @mokotottenham opens this weekend! We, the people behind @jumbipeckham bring our one-deck-hi-fi-restaurant-meets-blues-party concept across the river to Tottenham.”

The free-entry venue will open late every night from Tuesday to Saturday, and celebrate the sounds and flavours of the founders' Afro-Caribbean roots. Visitors will be served up “modern vegan soul food” in a “contemporary setting with Audiophile sound courtesy of London based bespoke audio studio, Friendly Pressure.”

The space also features a solid oak booth created by London designer, Don Heston, which will house a “community vinyl library which will be home to regular contributions from our guests & residents.”

MOKO is located on Tottenham’s Markfield Road where former nightclub Five Miles and independent food and events spot, Cravings previously operated. “The venue builds on the legacy of previous local institutions in its place... to provide a much needed space for the communities in and around the area,” Zero and Williams shared.

Earlier this summer, Jumbi was granted a 2AM licence following a public petition. “These two extra hours may not seem like much but they make ALL the difference,” the duo said, “... safeguarding our future in the area and allowing us the freedom to experiment, push things forward and give more back.”

MOKO will celebrate its launch this weekend (18-19th August) from 8PM until late with special guest DJ sets, free drinks, and finger foods for the first visitors. RSVP here.
