"We will celebrate extravagantly in December together as we have done for the last 9 years. [PAL] ends here - but not forever!"

Hamburg club PAL is set to close on 1st January 2024.

Sharing the news on Instagram last Thursday (23rd November), the club wrote: "Due to the current situation, we'd like to inform you today that our original idea of an ideal club can no longer be realised at the current location in the future for various reasons."

It continued: "This step means that [PAL] will close forever on 01.01.2024 at Karolinenstraße 45 and we will start looking for a new venue. No worries, we will celebrate extravagantly in December together as we have done for the last 9 years. [PAL] ends here - but not forever!"

PAL opened its doors on November 16th 2014 with sets from Ryan Elliott, Marc Schneider, Harre, and Faerber.

The club is the third in Hamburg to announce its closure of late, with Fundbureau and Waagenbau also shuttering next year. All three clubs are located near the Sternbrücke railway bridge in Hamburg Altona, which is undergoing a controversial redevelopment.

According to an article in T-Online, the clubs were due to be given new buildings by local authorities, but relocation plans have yet to be announced. "The plans have not progressed particularly far and there are no concrete contracts with the clubs," it reads. "It seems unlikely that a new club location near the Sternbrücke will be implemented in the near future."
