The designer of the LEGO Pioneer CDJ 2000s has developed plans for a DJM 900 Nexus mixer made of LEGO bricks.

Hungarian designer Tamás Borján, who presents his LEGO-themed work as Tomasso Builds, has created the mixer to complement the decks as part of his LEGO Ideas campaign, in hopes of his plans coming to life. "With this bad boy and two of the CDJs, a full deck is complete", he wrote on Instagram

The LEGO DJM 900 Nexus mixer features sliding volume faders and a master knob, an effects selector knob with four effects, crossfader and an LED panel. "With this plan I followed the same principles as with the CDJ", Tomasso wrote. "I tried to be as close with the design as possible to the original, as well as adding as many playable features as I could... All the features are mechanical, no electric parts were used.

First proposed in June, the LEGO CDJ 2000s uses 2628 pieces with playable features including a working USB stick and port, CD drive, jog wheel and tempo fader, with replaceable LED panels.

While Borján says that "this is only a 3D plan, and I’m not sure I’m gonna build it with real bricks", he hopes that, with enough support, the full set may soon become a reality.

LEGO's Ideas platform allows creators to share their concepts to potentially become commercial kits. Ideas with over 10,000 supporters are considered, and the original designer would get 1% of royalties on the product. Tomasso's Pioneer concept currently has nearly 5,500 supporters.
