LGBTQ+ clubbing history podcast, Memories From The Dancefloor, returns for second season

Memories From The Dancefloor, a podcast that explores and LGBTQ+ clubbing scenes and history, is returning for a second season.

The relaunch of the podcast this month coincides with this year's Pride Month, and the second run features four episodes.

Over the course of this latest season, journalist and host Damian Kerlin focuses on LGBTQ+ venues and the queer scene in Wales, shining a light on spaces there past and present. It comes after the first series of the podcast, launched in February of last year, focused on the scene and venues in London.

Interviewees over the four episodes include Cardiff drag queen Dr Bev, former Swansea East MP Siân James and DJ Ian Cottrell, among others.

Speaking about the second season of Memories From The Dancefloor, host Kerlin said in a statement: "There are communities out there thriving, and, dare I say it, having even more fun than those in London. Wales is home from home for me.

"Having moved here originally as a fresh face student, I've been lucky enough to experience some of the spaces mentioned in this series first hand, and boy, do they not disappoint. The sense of community and pride here is insane, so I can't wait for you to wrap your ears around Season 2."

The podcast is available to now via platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts.

Earlier this year, DJ launched a podcast, Queerly Belovedexploring LGBTQIA+ dance music’s past and present with interviews including Lakuti, Josh Caffé, Peaches, Planningtorock, Fat Tony, fka.m4a and Kim Ann Foxman. Read DJ Mag's interview with him about the podcast here.
