We spoke to him about Ibiza’s role in dance music, the importance of new talent and his plans for the rest of 2018...

Fabulous and flamboyant as ever, Róisín Murphy is in the middle of releasing a series of four 12-inch singles that she’s worked on with house producer Maurice Fulton. “I wanted to work with him for more than 15 years,” she tells DJ Mag. “Even though it’s not all banging, it’s all about club music somehow.”Róisín has also directed the video for the penultimate release, ‘Plaything’, creating an enticing clubby vibe that perfectly matches the summery party track. Performance-wise, you can catch her and a full band doing live shows at festivals across the rest of the summer and beyond, and she also adds a personal touch to the visual aspect of the shows by utilising her own footage and photographs for the back projection. “We all feel connected on the stage, and we are connected, there’s a lovely atmosphere between us,” she says, before laying down her key records for DJ Mag...
