German producers Adana Twins have consistently been playing, releasing and remixing some of dance music’s biggest clubs, labels and artists since 2012. Ahead of their new ‘Pictures’ mini-album on Solomun’s Diynamic imprint, we spoke to them about their fave production tool on a budget – a Roland SH-101 clone at a bargain price.
“We love things to be smooth, comfortable and flexible while producing, so even though we have lots of analogue instruments in the studio, we use them for the production only on occasion."
Mr Fingers’ ‘Can You Feel It’ is undoubtedly a dance music classic, with its iconic bassline leading the way for house music’s domination. In our new mini-series ’60-Second Synth Sounds’ we look at how to create the bassline from scratch in under one minute! While the original was created on a Juno-60, and we’ll be using a Prophet-08, you can use any synth with a single oscillator, filter and two envelopes, which is most subtractive synths, hardware and software.
With support in the bag from DJ EZ, Cameo, Toddla T and the 2 Bears, and a new single out today on Unknown To The Unknown, DJ Q has laid down a mix of chopped up garage mayhem to get you familiar with the ethos behind his new monster UK club smash ‘Say To You’.
Skepsis, Darkzy and Bru-C are amongst the names representing UK bass giants CruCast on the final leg of their UK tour, taking over Printworks London on Saturday 23rd November.
Other names from the CruCast gang playing Printwork's mainroom Press Halls in November include Window Kid, LazCru and Mr Virgo, while Problem Central (aka Logan D, Majistrate, Eksman and Evil B) will make a special appearance, and drum & bass dons Randall, DJ Die and Dismantle will all go back-to-back.
LPZ is the combination of Cosmo Lopez, P Lopez, and Lion. This remix of Cosmo Lopez' first solo effort is by the other two thirds of the group, and damn! Do they know how to work a bassline.
Jaunty yet full of swagger, this remix twists the original to a totally different vibe - one that without doubt is going to kill any dancefloor it touches.
