Premiere: New Jackson ‘Every Home Should Have One’

New Jackson returns to Permanent Vacation with his first release in over a year, ‘Romancecar’’. Hear the choral and agile house pulse of ‘Every Home Should Have One’ now...

New Jackson will release his first new EP in over a year next month via Permanent Vacation.

Returning to the beloved Munich label once again following 2017’s superb ‘Bounce Again’ EP, the forthcoming five-tracker, ‘Romancecar’, is another masterful collection from the Irish producer. It’s not like he has been resting on his laurels for the past year, though. 2018 saw the producer – real name David Kitt – release his long awaited eighth solo album under his own name. A stellar selection of folk songs with sparing use of electronics, the album featured an acoustic version of previously released New Jackson track, ‘Made It Mine’, among nine other wonderfully assembled cuts.

Kitt also teamed up with fellow Irish electronic artist Lumigraph to release the spectacular ‘Dull Clunk’ LP as Garies. If you haven’t dug in there yet, you really, really must.

Back to the present though, ‘Romancecar’ is another fine selection of analog house music with celestial melodies and arpeggiated basslines bursting from every corner. Making use of a lovingly assembled hardware set-up, Kitt makes fine use of the Buchla to create ethereal and odd atmospheres on top of agile, dancefloor ready rhythms.

You can hear the EP’s climactic and choral centrepiece, ‘Every Home Should Have One’ below.
