LP Giobbi shares video for Defected single, ‘Giodisco’: Watch
The producer’s defected debut comes with a video celebrating the power of friendship
LP Giobbi has shared a video for her recent single, ‘Giodisco’, released via Defected Records. Watch the video below.
Released today (13th July), the ‘Giodisco’ visual brims with all the energy of the single, which followed the artist's debut album ‘Light Places’, released in May on Counter Records.
The video was directed by Los Angeles-based creative Cor.ece, whose recent work includes the trilogy of Honey Dijon music videos created for YouTube’s Black Voices Fund, and is described as “a testament to the power of music, friendship, and the pure release of energy through dance.”
Reflecting on the creative process, LP Giobbi said: “Giodisco got its start when I was practicing/attempting to re-create the drums in Daft Punk's ‘Rollin' & Scratchin'. I didn't get anywhere close but hey–‘Giodisco’ was born through experimenting, trying and having fun in the studio. Our director, Cor.ece could not have captured the joy of this song better and I’m thrilled we get to share this video with the world!!”
Cor.ece added, “For me, the ‘Giodisco’ music video is cinematic documentation of true joy; the endless, boundless kind of joythat we are all invited to experience thanks to the featured dancers, Paris Nicole and Techno Tupac, and of course the sublimely moving music by LP Giobbi.”
In the past 12 months, LP Giobbi has also dropped a string of remixes including Pete Tong’s ‘Free (Do What U Want)’ and Röyksopp's ‘Feel It’, alongside a remix edition of Jerry Garcia’s ‘Garcia’.
Her February single, 'Can’t Let You Go', featuring Little Jet, is also set to appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming F1 23 video game, alongside tracks by the likes of Swedish House Mafia, The Chemical Brothers, Romy & Fred again.., and Flume.
