DJ Stingray, Helena Hauff, and Floating Points are amongst the first acts to be confirmed for next year's Dimensions festival.
The Croatian festival will take over The Garden in Tisno for the first time next year, having confirmed earlier this year that it would be leaving its longtime home of Fort Punta Christo in Pula. Floating Points will play live at a special opening concert for the 2020 edition, which will take place at St. Michael's Fortress in nearby Šibenik.
Floating Points will play a live-streamed party by DJ Mag at ADE.
On the 17th October, Floating Points, AKA Sam Shepherd, will play a live-streamed DJ set from Amsterdam's Claire nightclub, with support from the city's Brighter Days founder, Kamma. The performance comes ahead of Shepherd's album 'Crush' via Ninja Tune, which will be released the same week.
Floating Points is set to release a new album.
The influential UK producer - real name Sam Shepherd - who released his first material since 2017 with the 'LesAlpx' EP in July, will release his new album 'Crush' via Ninja Tune in October.
The R3 Soundsystem, a mobile rig set to join the People's Vote demonstration in London on Saturday 19th October, has revealed new names for its line-up.
Ed from The Chemical Brothers, Bicep and Floating Points are amongst the latest acts to be added, which is described by organisers as a consortium of DJs, crews, festivals, clubs, and soundsystems pushing for a second referendum. Originally set for 12th October, it will now take place on the new date of 19th after the main People's Vote rally date was changed.
Jayda G, Caribou and Floating Points are among acts who have shared support for a new climate change initiative, Music Declares Emergency.
Coldcut, Mafalda, Jon Hopkins and countless other artists have also vocalised their support for Music Declares Emergency, an initiative that comprises "a group of artists, music industry professionals and organisations that stand together to declare a climate and ecological emergency and call for an immediate governmental response to protect all life on Earth."
Floating Points is locked for the next ‘Late Night Tales’ compilation.
The DJ and producer, AKA Sam Shepherd, will unveil his addition to the revered series next month, which spans global soul, ambient, jazz and folk.
"The music is a selection of the kind of records I play to set the tone when DJing all night long," he said of the idea behind the release. "I’ve learnt about a lot of incredible music from listening to 'Late Night Tales' over the years, so I jumped at the opportunity to compile one myself."
