Dance music culture has invaded gaming, and is blurring the line between the real and virtual world. Big gaming companies are recruiting dance music DJs for more than their music. They are co-opting their image, their brand, their personality and weaving their digital avatars into a video game storyline.
Avicii’s family have started the Tim Bergling Foundation in support of mental health.
The project will initially concentrate on offering support to individuals and organisations in the field of mental health and suicide prevention, before expanding to cover other issues such as climate change, development assistance, nature conservation and the protection of endangered species.
"Tim wanted to make a difference – starting a foundation in his name is our way to honour his memory and continue to act in his spirit," an official statement from the family said.
