Nia Archives has announced her debut album, ‘Silence Is Loud’, and dropped the title track. Listen to it below.

The Bradford-born producer and DJ will share her first full-length project on 12th April via HIJINXX/Island Records, featuring the singles ‘Crowded Roomz’, ‘So Tell Me’ and ‘Forbidden Feelingz’. Her debut album will find Nia exploring topics of “loneliness and the intense potential power of silence..,” as well as “relationships, family, navigating her 20s and more.”

Elaborating on the LP, which sees her working with Ethan P. Flynn (David Byrne, FKA twigs), Nia said she wanted the record to be “more song-focussed, putting interesting sounds on jungle.”

The first single and title track, ‘Silence Is Loud’, is out today (15th February). Described as a “celebration of her unconditional love for her brother”, the single features elements of melancholy indie and Brit-pop.

Last December, Nia Archives returned to Depot Mayfield with the debut outing of her UP YA ARCHIVES show. The takeover, curated by Nia, brought together the likes of Shy FX, Interplanetary Criminal, Yung Singh, salute, a debut Special Request b2b Clipz set, and more.

In the same month, she received a nomination at the MOBO Awards in the Best Dance/Electronic Act category, alongside fellow nominees for 2022 including Aluna, PinkPantheress, Shygirl, TSHA, and Salute.
