FL Studio 21.2 with stem separation and AI mastering is now available

The long-awaited update adds some impressive new features

FL Studio 21.2

FL Studio 21.2 is now out of beta and available for users to download and use. The new version was originally teased last month.

The much anticipated new features include AI stem separation inside the software, a first for any major DAW, as well as unlimited AI mastering built right into FL Studio. The new version also adds unlimited distribution of music through their distribution partner, DistroKid. That means you can master and distribute directly from inside your DAW, without paying anything beyond the newly introduced FL subscription fee.

The new update is free to existing FL Studio customers, while some FL Cloud features are available through the extra subscription. Subscribers can choose between paying $7.99 monthly, $79.99 annually, or $49.99 for a limited time. Image-Line says that “any new or existing FL Studio user will also receive a free one-month FL Cloud Trial subscription, with no restrictions or commitment, and no credit card required.”

Earlier this year, Image-Line also launched FL Cloud, a cloud-connected element of FL Studio that features sample browsing all sync’d to the tempo and key of your project. All content is royalty-free and artist packs include sounds from 9th Wonder, Murda Beatz and K-391. It’s also the first time a DAW has been able to connect to the cloud natively, and is a hint of what might be to come for the future of the DAW.

Speaking about the new update, Image-Line CEO Constantin Koehncke said: “Our mission is to make music production accessible, productive, and fun, and we will continue to add tools and features to help our users achieve their creative goals. Importantly, cloud-based features do not affect our core promise of outright purchase of FL Studio with Lifetime Free Updates or our commitment to providing new features to FL Studio itself. With FL Cloud, all users benefit from free features, a generous introductory offer, and extremely competitive pricing.”
